Registration Video Guide

This video guide will take you step by step through the event platform registration in under three minutes.

Video & Audio Issues

Not to worry, let's get them sorted out as quickly as possible so you don't miss any of the event highlights

Please avoid Brave, Safari, Microsoft Internet Explorer or Edge since these browsers lack the modern web technologies support necessary for Hopin online events to run in a web browser correctly.

The latest versions on desktop of Chrome or Firefox guarantee the best experience and can be the swiftest method to resolving any issues. We recommendation Chrome as the best browser and Chrome can be downloaded directly using this link: Download Chrome

Mobile browsers: Safari on iOS and Google Chrome on Android. Mobile devices have small screens and make navigating the event more difficult, we would recommend using a laptop or desktop for the very best experience.

Audio & sound settings

Chrome is the best browser to use for your attendance at events

All being well you should've been prompted to select your audio and video device on your machine to enable people to hear and see you at the event, but if you are unable to select your AV options, it is probably because you need to give browser permissions for Hopin to access your AV devices.

To give browser permissions in the Chrome browser a shortcut is in the URL bar, find the video camera icon and click it. A drop-down modal will appear like this on the right, if not you will need to manually find the settings, guide below.

Google Chrome Browser settings

Make sure your camera and microphone are allowed for https://hopin.to.

You can also check to see if Hopin has access to your AV devices this way: In your browser, click Chrome

copy this link into the search bar : chrome://settings/content

or

  1. Go to Preferences
  2. Select Privacy and Security.
  3. Find Site Settings
  4. Under Site Settings, locate both the Camera and Microphone sections.
  5. Hopin should be one of the approved sites for both settings.
  6. and switch on Ask before accessing (recommended)

Please note: Every effort has been made to make the information contain in this help page as up to date as possible, however for additional information or if updates and changes have been made which our outside of our control the links below will lead to the official browser pages for additional browser support:

Technical Help

Chrome & Firefox Extensions:

Sometimes, third-party extensions used on desktop browsers can affect the experience blocking some of the Hopin interface elements.

That’s why we also recommend opening the event in either Incognito mode on Chrome or Private tab on Firefox depending on which browser you are using.

Chrome - Incognito mode (command+Shift+N on macOS or Ctrl+Shift+N on Windows)

Firefox - Private tab (command+Shift+P for macOS or Ctrl+Shift+P for Windows)

Performance & other issues:

Sometimes, the machine used requires more resources. Multiple open tabs and/or open applications can slow down a machine and affect the experience of an event. If you are experiencing issues in performance or other issues, please try to close other applications and reduce the number of open browsers tabs.
